Shady Sunday Street Market is a lively street market with performances, music, craft, design and local food. After the market Grill-Your-Own-Food-BBQ. The day ends with the Late Night Festuge Cabaret.
11.00-20.00 Opening of the Concert Hall and Shady Exhibition Room
In a massive cathedral of sound a robotic orchestra plays with kaleidoscopes and light. Concert Hall is an unforgettable and unique adventure. As you walk through the building, your own shadow follows you, twirling to the beat. The exhibition room is loaded with art installations, moving shadows and video art.
11.00 – 17.00 Shady Sunday Market and performances
We inaugurate Shady Town with a lively and festive street market in front of the Slaughterhouse. The market will be filled with stalls selling craft, design and local food. Throughout the day there will be all kinds of surprising theatrical pop-up performances, folk music, street theatre and a Cosplay Creature fashion show by the Cos Squad.
12.00 – 17.30 Workshops
Shady Sunday Market offers activities for the kids and for the whole family: the Sunday workshops invite you to a world of circus and the Chinese traditional Water Sleeve dance. For the kids there will be mini-movies, and the Shady photo studio is ready to take freaky friends and family portraits. See the full workshop descriptions below.
14.00 – 19.00 Open Stage
Shady Town calls all performers to step up and share – songs, music, dance, stand-up comedy, all your are welcome. Shady Town is hoping to see your talent unfold! The stage is supplied with a small PA-set with microphones and the possibility to plug in your computer or mp3 player. If you have particular needs or wishes, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
16.30 – 17.00 Tractor Circus
Machines meet humans and all rules are broken. With lines rigged between agricultural machinery, a floating stage is created and the way people and huge machinery collaborate is turned upside-down. Literally! Together, they capture the sharp beauty of honesty and craziness and a twisted universe unfolds.
17.00 – 20.30 Family Barbecue
End the market day with an outdoor family dinner in Shady Town. Bring or buy your own food to grill on the open barbecues. In the lounge area you can enjoy music, food from the food trucks, bar and great coffee.
21.00 – 23.00 Late Night Festuge Cabaret
At the Late Night Cabaret all Festuge people, audience and artists get together in a comfortable and lively atmosphere to talk, meet each other and have drinks. Anything might happen here; a spontaneous choir, jazz singers, acrobats flying through the air, dance to live music or simply good vibes with old and new friends. The Late Night Cabaret is open every evening, featuring different invited artists every night. Local and international Festuge artists will make more or less spontaneous appearances on the stage.
